Position Function
Oversee all aspects of a designated project, ensuring smooth operations, adherence to timelines, and successful outcomes. This individual will manage project activities, including hiring and training student employees, coordinating with community partners, and attending both project and community meetings. The Project Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate project files, monitoring and managing the project budget, and ensuring that all activities are completed in line with the guidelines set forth in the grant proposal.

The Project Manager will work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, to accommodate project needs and community engagement.

This is primarily a remote position.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum Experience
At least one year experience in a community-serving program and/or other community-based agencies or organizations.
Minimum Other
Ability to work collaboratively with the project team, Ball State staff, students, as well as community leaders and participants.

Willingness and ability to travel; possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the university's auto fleet policy.
Authorization to work in the US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Master's degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in project management or coordination.
  • Experience working with community-based projects or in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of child development, early childhood education, or early intervention.


Preferred Other

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work during evenings and weekends as needed.

Manage the development and implementation of the project, including outreach and recruitment; create detailed project plan, outline informed project timelines/deadlines, produce key deliverables, and ensure all activities align with the goals and objectives outlined in the grant proposal.
