Job Description

Primary Location:

Rapid City, South Dakota

Warehouse Manager - ALC: Directs warehousing activities for Sales Center by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisor(s).

  • Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of product and materials (includes outdated, damaged, and pilfered inventory) and keeping warehouse inventory current and at appropriate levels.
  • Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment. Prepares work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
  • Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.
  • Directs salvage of damaged or used material.
  • Participates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.
  • Takes a leading role in ordering product to maintain an adequate inventory level for the business needs.
  • Collaborates with Sales Center leadership regarding upcoming promotional events to ensure adequate inventory is available.
  • Counts and verifies inventory as required by company policy.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Certified forklift operator. Certified CO2 filling operator.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform basic math and business math functions.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
