Job Description

Key Responsibilities
* Process and analyze payments: These payments require a high degree of accuracy and must follow agreements, contracts, terms and conditions, amendments, change orders, and procurement policies
* Reconcile accounts: Each project needs expenses classified correctly at fiscal year end and at project completion.
* Secure funding from clients.
* Manage fiscal process for assigned area: Coordinate processing and approval of transactions including contractor payments, consultant payments, credit card transactions, requisitions, expense reports and journal entries.
* Supervise employees: Provide guidance, training and problem solving for 2-4 employees, part-time team members, and student employees. Review accounting transactions to ensure all meet the MU, State and Federal requirements. Monitor and report on staff performance annually, Approve payroll and benefit time for staff.
* Support Department and Finance Director: Prepare and analyze annual, quarterly, and monthly budget and projection reports for operating accounts, provide fiscal advice for the department, assist with the development of project software and identify & document internal policies & processes to reduce costs and increase efficiencies.
* Guidance and Training: Provide guidance and training to other division staff including participating in departmental meetings as requested.
* Prepare cost allocation documents and complete rate setting activities as needed for assigned area.

Shift

8 hour shift between the hours of 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting or a combination of education and experience. 5 years of experience in business, finance, or accounting; or a combination of experience in one or more of these areas and supervision, training, or other related work experience.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $84,000 - $89,000 per year

Grade: GGS-011
