We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Payroll Analyst to join our dynamic team and ensure timely and accurate payroll tax processing and reporting.

This role is crucial in overseeing payroll tax compliance work (regulatory reporting along with researching and interpreting multistate regulatory requirements), overseeing employee garnishment compliance, and performing complex payroll accounting functions.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Coordinate the administration of the payroll wage and tax reporting process, ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.

  • Review and resolve complex issues related to payroll processing, payroll taxes, and payroll accounting.

  • Manage tax and regulatory reporting, including quarter-end and year-end payroll activities, reconciliations, and the W2 process using ADP Smart Compliance.

  • Research and interpret multistate regulatory requirements, resolving issues related to timekeeping, payroll processing, payroll tax, garnishments, and taxable fringe benefits.

  • Oversee the accounting for the entire payroll process, including recording, correcting, and reconciling transactions related to payroll expenses, mandated payroll taxes, and liabilities.

  • Serve as payroll project manager, leading payroll system testing for enhancements and upgrades to validate expected functionality in partnership with HRIS and Accounting departments.

  • Provide guidance and counsel to employees, HRIS representatives, and managers on wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and garnishment requirements.

  • Design and continuously improve payroll business processes and workflows to enhance employee experience, increase efficiency, and reduce manual work.

  • Participate in interim and annual financial audit processes.

  • Handle complex issue resolution and customer service inquiries.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related business area

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of multistate payroll processing

  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll accounting experience

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification a plus but not required

  • Location: Primarily remote position for residents of WI, MN, and IA Occasional on-site work may be required based on business needs.
