We are seeking a Interim Director of Health Services, Senior Living
Pay: $85,000-$95,000 annually, depending on experience
Location: Twin Cities Greater Metro. This position requires that you drive covering Senior Living communities.
Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Position Summary
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of nursing care and services provided to residents and is responsible for daily clinical operations.
Position Functions and Responsibilities
Business Strategy and Support
- Oversee the nursing staff for the provision of quality and appropriate resident care that meets or exceeds company and regulatory standards. May be required to assume Nursing role as needed.
- Schedule and/or perform rounds to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care.
- Maintain administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for the proper charting and documentation of care, medications, and treatments.
- Assist with hiring nursing staff, oversee the provision of orientation and training, and retain qualified staff to carry out nursing and assisted living programs and services.
- May also participate/lead in reviewing employee performance, discipline process, and conduct periodic performance appraisals in a timely manner.
- Assist with developing and implementing the written staffing plan and nursing schedule that reflects the needs of the resident population.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to build relationships with internal and external prospects, customers, families, and care providers.
- Review and adhere to departmental budget.
- Evaluate current and potential residents to determine and maintain facility's ability to provide the appropriate level of care.
- Manage clinical aspects of state or federal government survey processes.
- Participate in daily Interdisciplinary meetings and other community meetings including Safety Committee and Quality Improvement.
- Assist with the oversight of the Resident Assessment process for accuracy and attend care planning conferences periodically to determine compliance with care planning guidelines.
- Participate in the collection, review, and analysis of clinical outcome data and determine trends. Brings identified concerns to the Quality Improvement committee for development of appropriate plans of action.
- Must be adaptable, flexible to changes, and able to prioritize and organize work efficiently to accomplish workload within time allotted.
- Maintain a positive attitude in relation to customer service program. * Comply with established safety rules and regulations.
- Promptly reports accidents, incidents, and unsafe and hazardous conditions/equipment to supervisor.
- Understand, comply with, and promote all rules regarding resident's rights.
- Abide by the facility's policies, procedures and practices.
- Participate in and support Quality efforts throughout the facility.
- Attend meetings and mandatory in-services.
- Knowledge and adherence to safety/disaster preparedness plan.
- Manager On Duty maybe assigned as needed.
Qualifications
Experience and Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of two years management or supervisory experience in long-term or acute care
- Restorative or geriatric nursing experience is preferred.
- Travel between Senior Living locations required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Must be able to relate professionally, positively, and cooperatively with residents, resident's families and employees.
- Must possess proficient computer skills, including email use.
