Summary:

The Assistant Teacher role is responsible for assisting the classroom teacher in providing comprehensive, developmentally appropriate care and education for young children in cooperation with families, co-teachers, and administrators based on current standards of best practice in the field of early childcare and education.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Completion of college courses preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification preferred. Current BLS Certification and First Aid Certification preferred or must complete within 30 days of start date.
  3. Experience: Teaching/caregiving in group childcare/preschool setting preferred; Experience with the Creative Curriculum and NAEYC Accreditation preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Minimum age of 18 years of age.
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: N/A
