Internship - Quality Technical Writer

Location: Daphne, AL

Compensation: $22.00 / hour

What Is the Opportunity?

Anchor QEA is seeking a Quality Intern to join our Corporate Quality team in the Daphne, AL office as part of our 2025 Internship Program. This position is ideal for a student with an interest in quality systems, technical writing, and process improvement within a professional consulting environment.

Interns will work in-person on a regular schedule and contribute to real-world projects that support the development and implementation of Anchor QEA's Quality Management System (QMS). This includes helping convert technical procedures into clearly written, controlled quality procedures that align with company standards.

Throughout the program, interns will:



  • Gain exposure to quality assurance practices in a consulting firm
  • Collaborate with experienced professionals in Quality, Operations, and Technical teams
  • Contribute to meaningful projects that improve consistency and clarity in how we work


By the end of the internship, students will have a foundational understanding of quality management principles, document control, and the role quality plays in delivering consistent, client-focused outcomes.

What Are We Looking For?

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented intern who is eager to learn about quality management and help strengthen our Quality Management System (QMS). The ideal candidate will bring a combination of curiosity, clarity in communication, and an interest in how structured systems help organizations work better.

Qualifications:



  • Current undergraduate or graduate student in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, or Communications
  • Strong writing and editing skills, especially when working with technical material
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and SharePoint; familiarity with document formatting and version control is a plus
  • Ability to interpret and organize complex information into clear, structured procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines with guidance
  • Collaborative and open to feedback, with a professional and positive attitude



What Are the Responsibilities?

The Quality Intern will support the Corporate Quality team in converting technical procedures into clearly written, controlled quality procedures that align with Anchor QEA's Quality Management System. This work will culminate in a defined capstone project focused on improving the clarity, consistency, or usability of key procedural documents.

Intern responsibilities may include:




  • Assisting in the review and revision of existing technical procedures for clarity, format, and alignment with quality standards
  • Supporting the development of new quality procedures in collaboration with subject matter experts
  • Helping organize and track document versions and approval status within our document control system
  • Conducting basic research on best practices for technical writing and quality systems
  • Participating in internal meetings related to process improvement and quality system updates
  • Supporting the rollout of new or revised procedures, including formatting, file management, and communication materials



What Is the Timeline for the 2025 Internship Program?



  • February 10 - February 21: Application submittal period
  • March 24-28: Anchor QEA Internship Interview Day takes place in our offices nationwide
  • April 7- April 18: Selected Candidates receive offers
  • May 20: Earliest start date for interns (subject to their availability)
