SUMMARY

The Analytics Manager will manage a team of Analysts and Data Scientists professionals to enable enterprise-wide access to business knowledge. This position will also be responsible for ensuring resources follow proper governance and standards across the various analytics teams and ecosystem. Employing design thinking, the Analytics Manager will anticipate the analytics needs of senior leaders and steer the development efforts accordingly by providing accurate, timely and relevant insights, and critical information to support the strategic initiatives and daily operations of the business lines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Empathizes with business partners to better understand their complex analytics needs.

  • Assists the analytics departments to define and ideate solutions with a uniform insight delivery in mind.

  • Oversees the analytics development life cycle and communicate final solutions to our business partners.

  • Consults with decision makers to identify analytics and reporting needs and provide strategic support.

  • Interfaces with business partners to intake new analytics requests through the ACoE intake process.

  • Coaches the organization in the use of available analytics resources.

  • Collaborates across the business to understand information technology and business constraints.

  • Helps disseminate information about the organization's analytics resources.

  • Oversees the design and testing of reports and dashboards to ensure a proper hand off for deployment to the production environment.

  • Ensures analytics resources adhere to predefined standards and have been routed through the proper governance channels.

  • Networks with internal and external partners.

  • Upskills themselves through conferences, publications, courses, local academia, and meetups.

  • Promotes collaboration with other teams within the organization.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads and develops a team of Analysts and Data Scientists.

  • Works within the analytics department to ensure all resources and insights are uniformly delivered and consistently upkept.

  • Organizes and drives data insight initiatives through effective management and collaboration with stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Extensive knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) such as Python, C#, or Java/Java Script.

  • Extensive knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.

  • Knowledge of version control systems such as GIT.

  • Be self-driven, curious, and creative.

  • Confident, energetic self-starter, with strong moderation and communication skills.

  • Demonstrates a track record of working with diverse, cross-functional teams, in a dynamic business environment.

  • Exhibit superior presentation skills, including storytelling and other techniques to guide and inspire.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Math, Information Systems, Economics, or related field required

  • 1-3 years experience leading cross functional teams in the analytics and development space required

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Project Management preferred

  • Business Analyst preferred
