EMI Services is hiring a Maintenance Trade Helper Plumber (MTH-P) performs a variety of duties within the plumbing shop. The primary responsibilities of the MTH-P are to assist one or more workers in skilled plumbing maintenance trade by performing specific or general duties of lesser skill, such as keeping a worker supplied with materials and tools; cleaning working area, machines, and equipment; assisting journeyman by holding materials or tools; and performing other unskilled tasks as directed by journeyman.
Salary

Key Responsibilities
- Performs basic repairs and maintains plumbing fixtures under direct supervision
- replace washers in leaky faucets, mend burst pipes, and open clogged drains using specialized equipment (jetter)
- Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipe under direct supervision
- composed of metal, pvc, fiberglass and vitrified clay
- Join pipe by use of bolted flanges, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints under direct supervision.
- May bend pipe to required angle using pipe-bending tool under direct supervision
- Fills pipe system with water or air and read pressure gauge to determine if system is leaking under direct supervision
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners under supervision
- Provide grounds keeping services, such as landscaping and debris removal
- Perform general cleaning of buildings or properties
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Essential Skills
- Some knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in both rough and finished plumbing installation and repair in commercial/industrial settings; applicable building and safety code requirements; methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment
- Some knowledge of building architectural/structural elements including alterations and repairs
- Follows verbal instructions and adheres to policies and procedures
- Adaptable and flexible in work situations
- Prioritizes tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner
- PRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies
- Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in a variety of building and/or utility trades
- Valid driver's license
- Valid DL complaint with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Regular, dependable attendance required
- OVERTIME- nights and weekends
- U. S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
- Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking
- Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping
- Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces
- Lifting and adjusting heavy objects, contact with sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment.
- Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions.
- May also come in contact with potential poisons and gases that could cause injury or illness.
- Sensory demands include exposure to the smells associated with sewer and water
