Overview

The Nexus Water Group team has an opportunity for a Network Analyst.The Network Analyst's role is to design, build, and implement network systems across the enterprise. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, corporate servers, associated software, and communication links. This person will also troubleshoot network performance issues, as well as analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions. This person will also assist the System Administration team with maintaining the on-prem and cloud infrastructure.

Location and Schedule

This position will located in Sugar Land, Texas.

What You'll Do

  • Provide input and assist with implementation of relevant policies for network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory, related documentation, and technical specifications information.
  • Plan and implement any improvement, modification, or replacement of network infrastructure components
  • Monitor and analyze network capacity and performance across the organization's LANs, WANs, and wireless deployments
  • Install and configure all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and so on.
  • Provides operational support for the organization's information systems and peripheral equipment such as application servers, database servers, web servers, desktops, printers and storage devices.
  • Provide input to budgeting process for network hardware and software procurement.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
  • Propose connectivity and uptime service level agreements for approval by IT Leadership.
  • Ensure the stable operation and efficient performance of company networks.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues
  • Ensure network and IP connectivity of all workstations, application servers, and back-end office infrastructure.
  • Opening, managing, documenting and resolve trouble tickets
  • Supports IT Service Desk with moderate to complex, non-routine issues by gathering information, troubleshooting, defining, and solving the issue based on technical knowledge of internal IT systems.

What You'll Bring

Experience



  • 3-5 years of networking experience in IT



Education



  • Completion of college diploma in IT networking or related discipline is required



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Demonstrated hands-on technical knowledge of network systems, protocols, and standards
  • Demonstrated working experience in a switched and routed environment
  • Demonstrated diagnostic troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated Hardware, software, and network connection troubleshooting experience.
  • Demonstrated skills installing/configuring switches, routers, firewalls, access points, etc.
  • Demonstrated communication skills

Work and Environment and Conditions

  • Normal work from home and office setting
  • Minimal travel may be required
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
