Student Type Assistant
Position Overview: The purpose of this position is to support all programming provided by the Art and Design programs, including the Gallery Program. in doing the assigned duties students may develop 1. physical skills in tool usage and creative problem solving, 2. Communication and leadership skills applicable in any work environment, 3. experience directly applicable in many art and design careers, as well as careers outside of these disciplines.
Essential Duties:
- Spend 10-15 hours a week over approximately 8 weeks organizing CSP's vintage type collection.
- Identify and label fonts of wood and metal type in the CSP collection, with particular attention to fonts that were designed to be used with the showcard press.
- Print labeled type specimens of CSP's wood type collection to serve as reference material for students and faculty.
