About this role

Position: Assembler 3

Essential Duties



  • Work from drawings, blueprints, sketches, verbal or written instruction such as work order process sheets.
  • Work with engineers to review and/or update drawings
  • Assemble electro-mechanical / pneumatic components, robotics systems, as required.
  • Perform basic training on standard equipment for other technicians
  • Identify and plan special jobs and projects, as requested
  • Perform wiring of control panels, extrusion framing, fabrication and build
  • Testing of assembled valves, pumps, wire harness, and other component assemblies.
  • Utilize a variety of handheld tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, crimpers, cutters, power and other tools as required.
  • Responsible for product quality and production quantity - work must be inspected to ensure conformity to specifications and quality standards before, during, and after completion.
  • Prepare and package finished work for shipment and/or storage, as required
  • Maintain quality records, forms, or other pertinent data, as instructed or required.
  • Develop quality control processes
  • Develop procedures and work instructions
  • Lead MDI Meetings, LEAN and 5S initiatives
  • Maintain area in a clean and orderly condition to facilitate manufacturing functions.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by lead/manager.


Education / Skills



  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Preferred degree in Mechatronics, or equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' of related electro-mechanical assembly or repair experience and/or training
  • Ability to maintain within the first year of role Lean Training Certification
  • Proven mechanical and electrical knowledge sufficient to diagnose and resolve equipment problems
  • Proven experience in disassembling equipment needing repair, diagnosing problems, cleaning and refurbishing/replacing parts as needed, reassemble, and test
  • Preferred prior experience with robotics
  • Preferred prior experience in machining and fabrication
  • Ability to use, read, and interpret drawings and measuring scale or tape proficiently.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Familiarity with 5S
  • Excellent customer relation and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Detail oriented, including accurate data entry skills
  • Capable of working independently, as well as a team member
  • Interact with co-workers with a positive attitude to maintain a friendly and productive work environment
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Ability to understand written and oral English and be proficient with computer, email, spreadsheets and look up documents online
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job
  • Ability to work in environments that may include:




    • Moving mechanical parts
    • Fumes or airborne particles
    • Painting chemicals and solvents
    • Electrical equipment




Physical Requirements



  • Sit/Stand for prolonged periods at a bench or table to assemble electro-mechanical parts.
  • Handling and Moving Objects - Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things
  • Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Finger Dexterity - The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
  • Retrieving and / or filing documentation from other departments.
  • Handling - moving, lifting (up to 40 lbs) parts to and from bench or cart.
