Job Description:

Delivers quality First Aid, CPR and Oxygen training. Provides a quality experience to students while incorporating YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.

Essential Functions:


  1. Delivers First Aid, CPR and Oxygen training within the established guidelines.
  2. Maintains training supplies and communicates with Training Center Manager of any needs. Prepares training materials and supplies for each class.
  3. Sets up classes in system and send e-learnings to students as needed. Closes classes timely and issues certifications.
  4. Provides coaching and feedback to students.
  5. Validates students' skills through practice sessions.
  6. Tests students on skills and provides corrections where needed.
  7. Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
  8. Maintains required program records.
  9. Maintains positive relations with students and other staff.
  10. Attends and participates in staff meetings and staff trainings as required.
  11. Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
  12. Follows mandated abuse and incident reporting requirements.
  13. Meets timelines and deadlines related to supporting systems and employee compliance. Example includes but are not limited to Kronos Workforce Ready for review and approval of time sheets.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  2. At least 18 years of age.
  3. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications including an instructor certification.
  4. Previous experience teaching First Aid/CPR.
  5. Ability to relate to all levels of employees.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with demonstrated interested in the welfare of children; prior childcare or baby-sitting experience is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
