ChampionX has an immediate need for a Water Treatment Equipment Technician located in Hobbs, NM or Carlsbad, NM. This position is primarily responsible for providing maintenance of all Frac trailers, pumps and equipment. What You Will Do:

  • Perform routine service, troubleshooting, and repairs on mobile water treatment systems used at frac sites and water pits.

  • Diagnose issues with pumps, valves, flow meters, chemical dosing systems, and automation/control panels.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections in accordance with company protocols and manufacturer specifications.

  • Replace worn or damaged components and ensure equipment is running efficiently to meet frac water quality requirements.

  • Assist with equipment mobilization, rig-up/rig-down, and system start-ups at field locations.

  • Document service activities, repairs, parts used, and operational observations through detailed service reports.

  • Collaborate with field operations, engineering, and HSE teams to ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with environmental standards.

  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools; report supply needs to management.

  • Respond to field calls and emergencies as needed, including after-hours or weekend work during peak operations.

  • Travel to remote locations and work in physically demanding outdoor conditions.

Position Details:

  • Route territory will include but not limited to: Permian Region

  • Work week and shift: Monday - Friday, including weekend on-call rotation, schedule may vary depending on business demands.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1 years of pump and equipment service experience

  • Minimum high school graduate or GED

  • Must have an acceptable motor vehicle record (3 years)

  • Immigration sponsorship not offered for this role.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on Chemical injection pumps and flow meters

  • Awareness ofchemical safety and the measures to take in the event of skin contact or spill

  • Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), issued by the state in which the candidate resides with all the relevant endorsements (X - Hazmat & Tanker)
