About the role

Reworld is a global leader in sustainable waste and energy solutions. Each year, our state-of-the-art waste-to-energy (TTF/EfW) facilities safely convert approximately 20 million tons of waste from municipalities and businesses into clean, renewable electricity, powering over one million homes. Regional Engineering Manager - Mechanical Engineering

We are seeking a hands-on and experienced Regional Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers and provide technical guidance across multiple facilities. This position plays a vital role in supporting the development, design, and execution of capital projects up to $2 million, ensuring operational excellence across our fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of three regional engineers.
• Provide engineering oversight across 13 facilities operating a total of 39 boilers.
• Develop project scope and technical documentation that includes the Criteria & Basis-of-Design Documents, Major Equipment Specifications, and Bid Evaluations & Technical Recommendations.
• Direct and approve detailed engineering design work conducted by external engineering firms and equipment vendors.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts for capital and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare system layouts, technical proposals, and contractual specifications.
• Contribute to contract negotiations, especially around technical deliverables and guarantees.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.

Experience

• 10+ years of project engineering experience in power generation or large industrial energy systems.
• Strong background in the design and construction of utility-scale power plant
• systems and equipment.
• Experience in Waste-to-Energy or solid fuels facilities is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience with all project phases-conceptual design, detailed layout, equipment selection, and construction specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop
• technical sections of proposals and contracts.
• Technical Proficiency with AutoCAD, with a strong working knowledge of
• Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel within the Mid-Atlantic region.
