Description
Under limited direction, responsible for carrying out various HR programs and procedures for employees at the location. This position executes day-to-day Human Resources operations and serves as support for the employees. Support may be provided in-person, by phone, and/or via email.
Job Requirements:
- Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3+ years of related Human Resources experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in an HR support role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency with HRIS and HR Time Keeping Systems preferred.
- Availability to support 2nd shift as scheduled.
- Working knowledge of recruitment strategies and techniques, and skilled in interviewing techniques.
- Working knowledge of employee relations, employment law, and must understand confidentiality.
- Working understanding and/or knowledge of Benefit Administration
- Working understanding and/or knowledge of Payroll
- Working understanding and/or knowledge of Employee Relations
Essential Functions
:
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position:
- Manage non-exempt recruiting activities, including organizing and executing job fairs.
- Manages the pre-employment process, including E-Verify, background checks on candidates, etc.
- Facilitate new hire orientation and follow up on all new hire paperwork is completed.
- Ensure legal compliance of Local, State, and Federal laws by monitoring and maintaining records as required.
- Responsible for accurate, complete, and timely employee data through data entry and/or completion of the appropriate standard forms or HRIS/ ATS transactions. Updates may relate to new hires, terminations, employee job changes, leave activity, department or work location changes, changes in pay, etc.
- Perform daily audit of employee time and attendance records to ensure accurate payroll data is processed to the payroll team during the defined pay period cycle(s). Follow all established wage & hour compliance controls and corporate governance requirements.
- Respond to employee inquiries of moderate complexity regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Support local and national initiatives leveraging Readerlink change management methodology.
- Responsible for ensuring maintenance of personnel files for current and former employees, ensuring compliance with internal document retention standards and external government regulations.
- Manage employee information such as personal data, attendance, and termination data.
- Updates employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses.
- Examines employee files to answer inquiries and provides information to authorized persons.
- Administers local recognition programs and employee-related activities.
- Support internal and external compliance audits.
- Adhere to the Readerlink policies and actively apply the company's Values.
- Perform other duties as required.
