Job Summary
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily twenty-four (24) hour planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the daily operations and clinical practice of assigned patient care areas, in order to provide quality, individualized patient care and support of Medical Center philosophies. The Nurse Manager leads staff to model a professional practice environment by providing a clinically competent staff; encouraging strong interdisciplinary team collaboration and communication; supporting autonomy and accountability; providing staff opportunities for in-service and formal education; stressing the importance of continuous learning; and supporting a culture where concern for the patient is paramount. The Nurse Manager assumes fiscal responsibility through preparation of unit budgets, supports research, participates in both long and short-term strategic planning, and assures patient advocacy. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care across multiple hospital departments and ambulatory settings. This position incorporates enterprise-wide operational responsibilities, including strategic planning, financial oversight, multidisciplinary collaboration, and continuous process improvement initiatives. The incumbent works closely with modality managers, vice chairs, division chiefs, and executive leadership to align clinical operations with institutional goals and regulatory requirements. The Nurse Manager is accountable to the Radiology Executive Director.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- A valid California Registered Nurse License
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
- Master's degree in Nursing or other related field, or if currently in a Master's degree program, must complete and graduate within three years.
- Two (2) years of nursing management experience.
- 5 years' experience in Radiology, ICU or procedural nursing.
- 2 years current or recent Radiology or similar leadership experience.
- Current or recent regulatory (e.g., Joint Commission and Magnet) experience
- Current experience in leading quality and process improvement projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Meets specialty specific clinical competencies for assigned area
- Working knowledge of applicable Standards of Practice
- Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of health care technology within specialty area
- Demonstrates a commitment to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues.
- Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.

The Nurse Services Manager 2 provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for patient care services within Radiology, Outpatient Clinics, and Imaging Centers across the UC Davis Medical Center enterprise. Registered Nurses in Radiology Main Hospital, Ambulatory Care Center, 48X Surgical Building and Placer Center for Health provide care to Medical/Surgical/ ICU /ED and outpatients scheduled for Interventional/ Neuro, Cross Sectional and Mammography procedures, Diagnostic Imaging examinations.

Work Environment
