Description

Starkey is hiring a Supervisor Production GDC for it's Plainfield, Indiana distribution center. This position is responsible for leading the order fulfillment team to drive continuous improvement in production quality, quantity, and customer satisfaction. Responsible for training and motivating the team to achieve specific KPIs is required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Identify and coordinate employee training needs
o Work with department trainers to identify, develop, and execute training needs for operators
o Participate in current and future product development informational and training sessions to support department, facility, and corporate goals
o Support employee cross-training measures throughout and across departments
o Identify and address production procedure design concerns from employees or corporate staff
* Operational Excellence
o Participate in and contribute to the ongoing effort to improve the Starkey continuous improvement program
o Comply with ISO policies and procedures
o Implement Lean manufacturing methodologies at a departmental level using lean tools and philosophies
o Identify/implement improvements to operator workstations and department layouts
* Responsible for employee work direction, productivity reports, and project completion
o Establish, execute, and monitor production standards to meet facility and corporate goals
o Encourage and support employee involvement for continuous process improvement
o Conduct regular audits to assess training success and individual performance
o Establish quarterly meetings with on-site managers and supervisors to help achieve their goals
o Schedule facility-wide meetings quarterly to review scorecards, key measurements, and production goals
o Document employee performance to aid in reviews and performance improvement plans
o Address employee issues and encourage participation in process improvement
* Execute proper inventory controls, receiving procedures, and material storage plans
o Enable FIFO picking and processing throughout the distribution facility
o Run and document expiration audits and properly disposition expired product
o Assist with regular cycle counts and facility inventory counts
* Support Starkey Employee Corporate and/or Department Guidelines, including health and safety objectives
* React to change productively and handle other essential duties as assigned
* Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education, Certification and Experience Requirements
* Education
o High school diploma required.
o Business or Engineering degree desired.
* Experience
o A minimum of 3 years of experience leading a production/warehouse department is required. Demonstrated experience in the management of people

Knowledge / Technical Requirements
* Knowledge of hearing aids desired
* Experience in document control handling process

Competencies, Skills & Abilities
* Excellent attention to detail and high-quality standards required
* Ability to work well in teams and as a team member required
* Effective communication skills - verbal and written and reading comprehension required
* Intermediate to advanced computer skills required
* Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination preferred

Work Context Working Conditions
* Standard office and warehouse conditions
* Required to be on-site
* Some overtime required
* Approximately 90% of the day on his/her feet, walking and standing
* Regular attendance required

Equipment Operation
* Standard office and warehouse equipment: telephone, e-mail, scanner, copier, mobile carts, forklift, cutters, cardboard baler, step ladder, pallet jack, label printers, scanners, scales, tape guns, carrier shipping systems, and shrink wrap

Salary and Other Compensation:
The target rate for this position is between $65,450 to $71,400/year. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout.
