Job Description

You will lead and/or support the manufacturing execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) and Continuation Engineer (CE) initiatives to meet objectives around Design for Assembly (DFA), time to market, total product cost, and optimized production system integration. With some guidance, work with a cross functional team on NPI projects, leading and owning manufacturing readiness. Create and execute a comprehensive manufacturing plan which includes, but is not limited to, creating final assembly layouts, specifying/quoting/procuring and implementing manufacturing assembly equipment (including highly automated systems), coordination of facility preparation, ensuring all EHS requirements are met, and facilitating final acceptance of all assembly equipment and processes. Through collaboration with local and remote team members, and direct onsite engagement, carry out the plan to ensure a successful pilot and launch products. You will be reporting to the Team Lead, Industrialization.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Leads efforts to reduce labor time, improve ease of assembly, and meet product cost targets
  • Works with design team and manufacturing operations to ensure optimum product and process design for manufacturability and assembly of new products, in compliance with manufacturing standards
  • Coordination of all proto and pilot builds through final execution of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Deliverables including but not limited to PFMEA, Global Product Marking (GPM), SAP, Factory Talk Production Centre (FTPC) validation, Work instruction (Digital and Print), Warehouse Management, and Operator & Maintenance training
  • Lead engagements with machine and equipment vendors, to procure assembly equipment for discrete product assembly, ranging from manual workstations to fully automated solutions
  • Lead work planning, scheduling and prioritizing activities, as needed
  • Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
  • Exercises judgement in supporting the selection of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Teach other industrialization engineers how to perform the work that is expected of them, the business processes that they participate in, and how to use the various tools (e.g. business system, computer programs, etc.) needed to complete their work
  • Utilize SAFe/Agile project planning methodologies
  • Support research, development and implementation of cost reduction and process improvement projects
  • Stays current in the state of the art, technologies and talent
  • Some travel is required (10% - 15%); possibly international
  • Ability to operate, respond, and work in multiple time zones, as required
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Experience with agile product development methodologies such as SAFe, Project Management, Design for Excellence (DFX), and Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies
  • Able to plan 3 months out at a very detailed level and 6 months out at a strategic level.
  • 2+ years in a project leadership or team leadership
  • 5+ years experience with Discrete assembly processes
  • Experienced in Industrialization & Design for Assembly practices
  • Experience with discrete assembly automation (spec, procurement, validation, support, etc.)
