Who we are looking for:
We are currently looking for a Human Resources Director to be based out of Dallas, TX. Reporting to the Vice President Human Resources - Plastic Pipe & Conduit, this person will be responsible for leading a team of plant Human Resources Business Partners and acting as a strategic business partner within client groups in creating and leading HR solutions to ensure overall performance within those groups.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, and a minimum of 10 years progressive success in various HR assignments. Experience in labor relations, lean manufacturing or a with business system-based company is a plus.
What you'll do:
- Lead and develop a team of manufacturing plant Human Resources Business Partners across a geographically diverse footprint
- Act as the day-to-day business partner for functional leaders within Plastic Pipe & Conduit with an emphasis on talent management to build the best team possible
- Contribute as a key HR leader for the Plastic Pipe & Conduit HR team, drive process improvements for enterprise-wide HR programs and best practices, including those that you eventually become the 'owner' for
- Continuously improve HR metrics and the HR dashboard, including focus on improving time-to-fill, employee engagement, and turnover
- Develop and consistently report monthly and quarterly KPI's with a run to red and countermeasure mindset.
- Handle full-cycle recruitment for all positions within client groups. These will be mostly made up of professional positions, contractors and occasionally interns.
- Manage and effectively investigate allegations of harassment and other aspects of mismanagement and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Drive 100% on-time-delivery to the annual HR calendar activities (merit review, organizational leadership review, compliance action plans, performance reviews, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with employment related laws (EEO, OSHA, FLSA, ADAAA, FMLA, etc.).
What you'll bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or an equivalent discipline (this is required; additional higher education is great!)
- 10+ years of experience in Human Resources across multiple HR disciplines, preferably in a mid-sized company (1,000-10,000 employees); manufacturing experience is strongly preferred
- A capacity for a fast-paced, high-growth environment. We're looking for someone that is adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and who is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner.
- Experience in the development and implementation of highly integrated processes solutions - a standard work mindset is a must
Within 3 months, you'll:
- Complete your new hire "Immersion" so that you are ready to rock in your new role.
- Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.
- Be fully competent in navigating Atkore's HRIS (UKG) and be almost completely familiar with the day-to-day 'standard work' for all HR process relevant to Atkore's HR Business Partners.
Within 6 months, you'll:
- Understand your team and the business priorities of the locations they support and how you can support their success
- Be comfortable with the day-to-day activities necessary to serve your client groups.
- Not only be known to everyone in your client group as their HR business partner, but they are ecstatic that they get to have YOU as their business partner.
Within 12 months, you'll:
- Have built a reputation as someone who is reliable, uses good judgment, hits deadlines, and has made mistakes that you've learned from.
- Have assumed ownership of one or more enterprise-wide initiative or HR best practice team.
- Be leading a high performing team of HR Business Partners that is known for being reliable, using good judgment, hitting their deadlines, and being valued partners to their site leadership and employees.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $143,280 - $197,010. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
