Position Summary |
The Head Performance Chef for Olympic Sports Nutrition supports the Director of Culinary Operations by implementing the nutrition program. This role involves understanding athlete fueling needs and the ability to customize meals for body composition goals, allergies, and preferences. Responsibilities include managing Bite inventory, overseeing food product shipping, receiving, and tracking, and assisting with menu development and execution for on-site and pre-game meals. The chef will also lead cooking demonstrations for football athletes, requiring knowledge of culinary terms, knife skills, and basic cooking techniques. Additionally, the role involves assisting in the management of catering event staff for daily team tasks and overseeing the morning and evening grab-n-go menus, including distribution and quality control. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
- Knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations, policies, and services.
- Knowledge of nutritional principles as they relate to sport and athletic performance.
- Knowledge of Health and Food Safety Codes for food preparation, storage, and serving.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with athletes, staff, and coaches.
- Previous experience developing menus and working with different caterers.
- Redesigning or developing educational handouts.
- Menu modification and development.
- Meal planning to meet athletes' goals.
- Live meal coaching
