Overview
The Sexual Misconduct and Discrimination Case Coordinator (Coordinator III) will be responsible for triaging incoming sexual misconduct and discrimination reports made to Utah State University's Civil Rights & Title IX Office. The Case Coordinator will serve as case manager for cases in the Civil Rights & Title IX Office, including monitoring deadlines and tracking milestones required by University policy.

Responsibilities
  • Reviews incident reports made to the Civil Rights & Title IX Office and assists with triage of incoming reports of discrimination and sexual misconduct.
  • Coordinates and manages cases through Civil Rights & Title IX's case management system including opening and closing cases, reporting as a Campus Security Authority, tracking case process, milestones and filings.
  • Assists investigators with task management, case tracking, and documentation.
  • Reviews case files for completeness and accuracy.
  • Develops case management checklists, protocols, and procedures.
  • Monitors case deadlines and time frames under University policies and procedures to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Collects information related to potential safety risks.
  • Communicates with parties and stakeholders and provides information on the Civil Rights & Title IX Office's processes, resolution options, supportive measures, and resources.
  • Drafts and issues notices to parties, memos to stakeholders, training requests, and other case-related communications.
  • Completes requests for information on behalf of the investigation team.
  • Communicates and follows up with other units and stakeholders as necessary to resolve case-related issues.
  • Provides other support to the Investigation Team.
  • Serves as point of contact for case management software used by the Civil Rights & Title IX Office, manages configurations, communication templates, user access, analytics, and reports.
  • Coordinates and attends case hearings.
  • Serves as back-up to cover the front desk.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.


Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Four years of experience; or an associate degree plus two years of experience; or a bachelor's degree is required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Excellent self-motivation and detail-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Case management experience and skills.
  • Proficiency using Maxient, or another investigation case management system.
  • Experience related to sexual misconduct and/or discrimination investigations.
  • Knowledge in data analytics.
  • Experience in higher education.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  1. Skilled in the use of computers.
  2. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  3. Skilled at records maintenance.
  4. Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
  5. Database management skills.

  8. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
  9. Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
  10. Knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques.
  11. Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
