The Graphic Designer will be chiefly responsible for creating primarily digital graphics for various training modalities and reports to the Creative Director at Learning Solutions team at Syneos Health. This person will conceptualize ideas, both individually and/or as part of a broader team effort, for virtual and live (classroom-based) training and, in turn, follow through on these concepts by designing attractive and highly engaging visuals to express content from our writing team. This person may also create other collateral such as posters, user guides, booklets, etc. for both internal and external clients. The Graphic Designer is primarily an individual contributor.
- Create deliverables that often align with client brand guidelines and are focused around the client's objectives
- Works efficiently and effectively to manage their own time against project budgets and timelines
- Brings knowledge and experience to the team on new and emerging technologies and strategies to best solve a client objective
- Proactive in addressing potential problems along the process of creating deliverables as well as addressing any cause of dissatisfaction from colleagues or clients as they may emerge
- Maintain consistent and open communication with colleagues to keep the daily workflow moving ahead
- Properly organize their own calendars, files, task lists and time recording against weekly deliverables
- Once further in role, to provide general artistic input, feedback and coaching for newer, junior, or contract team members and contractors as needed
- Learn new platforms such as Articulate Rise, stripo (eblasts) and FlipSnack, for example, to design and publish various materials
- Art direct 1-2 select projects at a given time as the "Creative Lead" ensuring all deliverables on a given project meet client expectations regarding visual/creative consistency
- Additional core responsibilities may include:
- Contribute expertise and visuals to internal sales and marketing collateral
- Communicate with clients to thoughtfully present and explain design ideas, methods and goals
- Assist colleagues in troubleshooting files, software and hardware to a small degree, as needed
- Maintaining your Syneos-provided hardware as much as possible, in guidance from the Syneos IT department

Along with demonstrated initiative, uncompromised integrity and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:
- Associates Degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred
- 5 years professional design experience
- Able to provide work samples and/or online portfolio
- Has a great curiosity about design, technology and learning
- Creative, innovative, and able to translate ideas and vision into creative, artistic, and engaging designs
- Proficient in the problem-solving processes
- Communicates clearly in written and verbal form
- Detail-oriented work ethic with the keen eye to test, identify, and resolve any technical issues, and even in a proactive manner, before deployment or delivery on desktop and iPad platforms
- Demonstrated command of good visual design, UX, and UI principles
- Provide accurately rendered scientific imagery based on research and communication (typically with stock art as the basis)
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends, when impending deadlines arise
- Advanced knowledge of the Adobe CC applications primarily Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat Pro, along with Microsoft PowerPoint which is a large part of our workflow; working knowledge of Excel and Outlook also expected
- Familiarity with HTML5 and front-end web design and email newsletter design-preferred
- Familiarity with Articulate Rise-preferred
- Familiarity with 3D software and rendering-preferred
- The drive for self-development, the ability to collaborate, and an action-oriented work ethic
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $69,568.00 to $82,733.00. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
