Minimum Job Requirements * Physical- capable of lifting 40 lbs. safely or with assistance. Capability of standing and bending over for long periods of time while performing manual labor with or without reasonable accommodations. * Working Hours- fulltime * Personal Traits- Good communication skills with positive teamwork and safety attitude. Job Duties and Responsibilities This position operates independently under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. They are authorized to make product and machine design decisions that impact manufacturability, efficiency, and safety of a product. This position works with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, tooling, and automation) to ensure design practicality and compliance. Expected to identify and implement improvements with minimal supervision. * Design and revise production tooling, machines, fixtures, and gages to support manufacturing operations. * Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to interpret customer specifications and modify designs for optimal production efficiency. * Ensure all designs comply with applicable safety standards and conduct safety risk assessments during all phases of design. * Develop and implement control software (PLC, HMI, VFD) and maintain documentation for troubleshooting and training. * Create detailed operation and maintenance documentation, including preventative maintenance plans and training manuals using VKS or similar systems. * Continuously identify opportunities for improvement in machinery, tooling, and processes. * Participate in prototype builds, testing, and final implementation of machines or fixtures. * Maintain accurate design records and ensure alignment with organizational standards and customer requirements. * Other ad hoc duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Technical Skills o Proficient in SolidWorks for designing and modifying complex parts, assemblies, and detailed drawings. o Experience with: * Assembly fixtures (manual and robotic) * Weld fixtures * Work-holding devices for machining * Quality inspection gages and fixtures * Stamping dies and custom-built machinery o Proficient in writing and troubleshooting: * PLC, HMI, and VFD programs o Knowledge of OSHA standards and safety risk assessments. * Possessing a working knowledge of: o Sheet metal fabrication o Manual mill and lathe operations o Welding processes (including fiber laser) o Electrical wiring and panel building o Air/hydraulic systems o Use of ERP/MRP software systems o Measurement instruments and Quality Assurance practices * Hands on Manufacturing Knowledge Education and Experience * Engineering or Computer Science coursework preferred with 3-5 years of experience in a similar function in a manufacturing environment Latitude Corp is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
