Buyer- NPI

Daikin Applied is hiring a NPI Buyer to join our growing team. The person in this role is responsible for purchasing and distributing materials, equipment, and supplies in accordance with company guidelines to satisfy NPI requirements, costs, quality and on-time delivery objectives. Reporting to the Manager, the NPI buyer will need to work cross-functionally and collaborate extensively with the internal supply chain organization to support new production introduction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures that company standard procedures are followed concerning purchases of materials and services.
• Obtain quotes from approved Daikin suppliers following standard policies and procedures.
• Processes Engineering NPI procurement requests for all products and commodities.
• Issues purchase orders; secures price advantages of quantity buying when appropriate; composes and edits purchase order features.
• In collaboration with the production buyer and materials teams, support NPI orders with supplier lead times, open purchases, and commitments and help address shortages for all NPI builds.
• Attend NPI meetings and maintain data, prepare reports, and analyze information using available software.
• Production readiness activities: Ensure NPI new parts are set up for purchase and coordinate post-NPI launch transition to the production buying team.
• Collaborate with Supplier Quality on PPAP purchase orders before parts are ready for production, track purchase orders, and update ISC-related project workbook documentation, as assigned.
• Works cross-functionally to resolve shipment barriers, material shortages, and other disruptions.
• Other Duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain or Similar AND 1-3+ years of experience in Supply Chain or Procurement
• OR an Associates degree AND 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain or Procurement
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain or Similar AND 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain or Procurement
• 3+ years of experience in Operations or Materials Management

The typical salary for these positions range from $23.65 per hour to $37.36 per hour in Staunton, VA. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
