MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. High School diploma or equivalent.

2. Must have and maintain a valid WV Driver's License

1. Associate Degree in related field

EXPERIENCE:

1. Work experience in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, air conditioning, and machine work totaling one year.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. They are not intended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities and duties. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Perform a variety of routine standard servicing and repair operations to maintain hospital buildings, equipment, furnishings, fixtures and grounds in proper condition as directed.

2. Receive assignments and work orders. Review work orders and priority status. Supplies and equipment. Perform work such as: replace fuses and light bulbs, clear drains, repair faucets, repair beds, chairs, tables, etc.

3. Carry out preventative maintenance programs as directed. Provide general assistance to Mechanic I and Mechanic II.

4. Maintain grounds and landscape of the hospital. Seed or sod lawns, transplant or plant shrubs, plants and trees. Cultivate, plant, and week gardens and flower beds. Mow and trim lawns, Prune trees and trim shrubs. Spray trees, shrubs, and plants to combat insects and apply nutrients for lawn and plant growth.

5. Clean grounds, Shovel, sweep, and remove debris form grounds, Remove snow from doorways, stairs and walkways. Plow snow from driveways and parking lots and spread sand to prevent slipping.

6. Perform painting duties

7. Perform routine plumbing, drywall, and plaster work; minor carpentry and electrical work.

8. Change filter on air conditioning equipment. Perform hood and filter cleaning in the kitchen.

9. Keep work area orderly, clean and safe. Assure proper care in use of tools, equipment and supplies

10. Consult with and keep supervisor informed of activities, needs, and problems in assigned areas

11. Patrol hospital buildings and premises to assist with the prevention of fire, theft, vandalism, and intruders. Monitor conduct of visitors on hospital premises; confront unauthorized persons for questioning as needed. Report safety and/or fire hazards or security violations to the Security Director.

12. Respond to inquiries for advice or assistance from hospital personnel, students, and visitors; escort personnel and visitors to parking lot as requested

13. Maintain records and prepare occurrence reports and other documents pertinent to security activities.

14. Secure and/or unlock offices and facilities as required.

15. Control parking and traffic flow. Issue tickets for parking violations. Report repeat violations to the Security Director.

16. Contact local police authorities for assistance as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Able to bend, stoop, reach and capable of normal rotation, and standing for a 7-8 hour shift. Able to lift fifty pounds from floor to a height of five feet and capable of moving all types of furniture, Equipment and machinery up to 400 ft. or more

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Capable of operating, setting up all types of in house maintenance tools and machinery
