Functional area: IT / Digital Remuneration: Exempt In your role as Senior Director, Digital Solutions, you will be leading the department responsible for product development, application support and operations for RWE Clean Energy's IT technology landscape. You will play a leadership role and transform your team toward a product-based and Agile operating model; this includes but is not limited to introducing DevOps practices, instituting technical governance, and enhancing interdisciplinary collaboration with business and the rest of the IT organization. Within the IT/OT organization, you will be a strategic leader and will guide the organization through broader strategic initiatives (e.g., cloudification, application rationalization) as well as lead resource planning and performance management for 3 distinct product teams. This role has direct interfaces with RWE Clean Energy business leadership, RWE Group technical leads, and 3rd party vendors and will require stakeholder management, executive communication, and technical depth. Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop RWE Clean Energy's team for Digital Solutions
- Define and execute product, platform and application strategy, aligned to overall tech and corporate strategy
- Oversee entire product and application lifecycle and own budget responsibility for product portfolio
- Implement product-based teams and ways of working across the organization's value chain, aiming at establishing embedded teams integrated to business processes
- Guide transition to DevOps methodologies while applying management best practices for commercial-off-the-shelf applications
- Lead technical governance standards for DevOps such as defining documentation standards, development guidelines, etc.
- Drive interdisciplinary collaboration across RWE Clean Energy's critical products and applications
- Lead cloudification journey and drive continuous optimization of cloud operations throughout the organization
- Systematically reduce technical debt within existing product portfolio and insource business-managed IT
- Ensure highest availability, reliability and compliance with regulations and cyber security standards of products and applications suite of RWE Clean Energy and establish associated Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to measure SLA adherence
- Actively collaborate with external partners for application development and operations, both for inhouse developed products as well as commercial-off-the-shelf applications across RWE Clean Energy's value chain
- Establish and champion agile methodologies and frameworks within team, fostering cross-functional collaboration, iterative delivery, and continuous feedback
- Modernize and optimize RWE Clean Energy's product portfolio to avoid product and capability redundancies while leveraging state-of-the-art technologies
Job Requirements and Experiences:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field of study
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field of study (or equivalent) preferred
- Additional applicable certifications (Certified Scrum Master, CSDP) are a strong plus
- Minimum 15years of experience in IT solutions and digital innovation with aminimum of 5years in a leadership role
- Proven track record in managing solutions and products, ensuring operational excellence, availability and reliability for big tech / large-scale energy / utility companies
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure) and operating models, DevOps practices and agile methodologies across SDLC
- Demonstrated experience in implementing agile frameworks at scale within IT organizations
- Extensive technical expertise of SDLC including different / hybrid development framework, software development trends, and developer efficiency
- Excellent communications, stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex projects with internal and external partners
- This position is an office-based role with expected travel and visits to other RWECE offices and field locations
- Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time
Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in New York and Chicago is $180,000 - $270,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
