About the Role

As the Sportsbook Manageryou will be primarily responsible for leading a retail sportsbook specific to your region. This role will be expected to implement and monitor business strategies and KPI's that maximize profitability with a focus on customer service, acquisition, and retention. You will also be responsible for managing key local partnerships and the daily operations of the sportsbook through onsite presence.

Responsibilities

  • Set the standard for best-in-class customer service by representing BetMGM's brand in line with standards and expectations

  • Lead, develop and mentor staff to ensure all company, departmental and regulatory standards and KPI goals are understood and met

  • Oversee day-to-day operations consistent with the strategic plan and vision, while ensuring adherence to policies, legal requirements, Title 31, and Gaming regulations.

  • Uphold and lead all appropriate cash control policies and maintain cash safe accuracy

  • Build a strong team by coaching employees and leaders through effective hiring, training, and scheduling practices to ensure the needs of the business are met

  • Manage labor level-based analysis of customer volumes and business plans

  • Develop cross-functional relationships including, but not limited to, Property Management, Regional Marketing, AML, Human Resources, VIP, Trading and departmental leadership

  • Maintain industry and competitive landscape knowledge

  • Ensure all customer-facing touchpoints and assets are in working order, such as kiosks, AV, data walls, odd sheets, seating, queuing, and signage

  • Partner with the Security and Surveillance Team to ensure that the sports book is operating safely and securely

  • Handle customer service escalations as needed

Essential Functions

  • Knowledge of sports wagering systems, sports markets and odds

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift to 10 pounds without assistance, and operate computers and other technological devices for extended periods of time

  • Must be able to promote a safe and healthy work environment to improve profitability, morale, and reduce absenteeism

  • Must be able to clearly understand and deliver messages essential to profitability, cooperation, and team building

  • Must be able to create and maintain a customer service environment which focuses on attracting and retaining customers, creating positive experiences, and solidifying our brand

  • Must have the ability to find the source of a problem and develop an effective and timely solution

  • Must have the ability to adjust to and embrace change while working in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment

  • Must have the ability to analyze historical data and reporting to predict future events to improve business decisions and solve organizational problems.

  • Must have the ability to listen to and understand other people's needs through interpersonal skills focused on teamwork and leadership

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate

  • At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the entertainment, retail, casino/sportsbook, or F&B industries

  • Strong process and project management skills

  • Ambitious self-starter, proactive and passionate about delivering projects

  • Strong attention to detail and enjoyment of problem-solving

  • Do-what-it-takes attitude, willing to dive in and figure it out

  • Team player

  • Comfortable with ambiguity

  • Ability to gain and maintain a Gaming License through the proper regulatory body as a condition of hire and continued employment.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $100,000 - $131,250. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for participation in a performance-based bonus plan.

Gaming Compliance & Licensing Requirements

As an online gaming company, BetMGM is required to comply with state gaming regulations which includes licensing obligations. Applicable employees must be licensed by at least one jurisdictional agency, although certain positions require licensing by multiple agencies. Failure to become licensed or maintain licensure with each agency as required for the role may result in termination of employment. Please note that the licensing process includes comprehensive background checks which may include a review of criminal records, financial history, and personal background verification.

In addition, candidates must comply with and support the company's responsible gambling policies, procedures and initiatives.

Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. The position is also eligible for an annual bonus.
