JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The College of Earth and Mineral Sciences (EMS) seeks an innovative and enthusiastic professional to join our inclusive and collegial team in theRyan Family Student Center (RFSC), serving as theAcademic Program Coordinator. The RFSC is the home for undergraduate activities in the College-academic advising and learning support, career and engagement planning, studying, and collaborating- a busy and exciting place that fosters a sense of community for our diverse student body. The successful candidate will serve as anacademic program coordinator for the Office of the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education and must show a commitment to inclusive excellence. Primary Responsibilities include:
The Academic Program Coordinator works independently on complex projects and must have strong communication skills, particularly writing and speaking. Proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook is required. Experience with Penn State's Systems including LionPATH, SIMBA, CONCUR, CIM, and CSRS is preferred. The College of Earth and Mineral Sciences is supportive of limited flexible work arrangements when aligned with the ability to meet the needs of the unit and the essential duties of the position. Education and Experience: Positions will be filled within the academic program coordinator career field at a level consistent with the candidate's education and relevant experience:
Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work autonomously are fundamental to success in this position. The employee will communicate and collaborate with multiple university offices as well as the five EMS departments, serve on university committees as appropriate, and represent the values of Penn State and EMS in all that they do.
