Ardelyx is a publicly traded commercial biopharmaceutical company founded with a mission to discover, develop and commercialize innovative first-in-class medicines that meet significant unmet medical needs. Ardelyx has two commercial products approved in the United States, IBSRELA (tenapanor) and XPHOZAH (tenapanor). Ardelyx has agreements for the development and commercialization of tenapanor outside of the U.S. Kyowa Kirin commercializes PHOZEVEL (tenapanor) for hyperphosphatemia in Japan. A New Drug Application for tenapanor for hyperphosphatemia has been approved in China with Fosun Pharma. Knight Therapeutics commercializes IBSRELA in Canada.

Position Summary:
Ardelyx is recruiting a Senior Director, Commercial Operations. This role will be critical to designing and driving the strategy and execution of our field operations and will be responsible for incentive compensation planning and implementation, territory management, promotional activity tracking, and ownership of our CRM system. Reporting directly to the VP of Commercial Analytics and Operations, the Senior Director, Commercial Operations collaborates closely with Sales Leadership, Marketing, Commercial Insights & Operations, Medical Affairs, and other cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies that support field team objectives and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead Field Operations process and systems to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Oversee sales incentive compensation program, including plan design and scenario modeling, attainment tracking, payout calculations and plan design and attainment communication.
  • Solicit input on current and potential plan designs from various stakeholders and serve as the first line approval for all plans and payouts
  • Design and produce subnational analytics, insights generation & account planning support
  • Oversee the field team reporting, key account analytics, and operational excellence
  • Implement best practices in CRM design and utilization as well as other field team related applications
  • Drive projects related to the development of these tools, including training on the use of the CRM and related data corporate wide
  • Manage the company's vehicle reimbursement program
  • Collaborate with broader Commercial Operations team to review data, improve existing processes, and on new projects to support the business
  • Collaborate with Internal and External stakeholders, including Sales and Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, and Medical to communicate and drive programs throughout the organization.
  • Develop and maintains strong working relationships with key stakeholders across multiple internal work teams
  • Maintain current knowledge of and ensure all functional work team activities are conducted in compliance with the full range of related internal and external systems, technology, regulatory requirements, and related policies and procedures
Qualifications:
  • Bachelori's degree with 12 - 15 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical sales field operations with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to assess, develop, execute, and adjust field programs based on business needs
  • Ability to understand high-level sales and medical strategies, translate them into system and process requirements, and drive execution with strong business impact
  • Proven track record of being able to plan, prioritize, & complete competing projects on time inclusive of problem solving throughout the projects
  • Demonstrated understanding and fluency of the business drivers, dynamics, and regulations within the healthcare industry
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate data into effective presentations
  • Demonstrated understanding and fluency of the business drivers, dynamics, and regulations within the healthcare industry
  • Deep understanding of sales processes, CRM systems, and sales technologies
The anticipated annualized base pay range for this full-time position is $250,000-$306,000. Ardelyx utilizes industry data to ensure that our compensation is competitive and aligned with our industry peers. Actual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target and equity awards, subject to eligibility and other requirements.
