Job Description:

Cydecor is seeking a Structural Engineer to provide support to a Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) customer. There are several openings spanning junior to senior positions.

This role will support the analysis of customer mission and performance requirements and perform engineering studies leading to the allocation of UxV attributes.

Candidates should possess strong engineering fundamentals, as well as expertise with surface and undersea shipbuilding programs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering analyses of customer mission and performance requirements to define UxV attributes in engineering terms.
  • Perform engineering studies leading to the allocation of UxV attributes to UxV systems in terms of design direction, performance, configuration, space and weight, and arrangement.
  • Perform and design engineering studies to identify the degree of UxV systems integration required to meet the mission requirements.
  • Provide Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) of designs in the form of technical products such as drawings, conceptual and product engineering designs, calculations, schematics, reports, etc.
  • Ensure structures can withstand the stresses and pressures imposed by use and the environment.
  • Calculate stability, strength and rigidity and make sure the right materials are used for shipbuilding programs.

Here's what you need:

  • Mid-Level: Bachelor's level degree in Engineering and 4-7 years of relevant experience
  • Junior: Bachelor's level degree in Engineering and 1-4 years of relevant experience
  • Relevant engineering experience related R&D, T&E, and systems acquisition programs

Bonus points if you have:

  • Master's level degree in Engineering
  • More than 10 years of experience related to the position description
  • Relevant engineering experience related R&D, T&E, and systems acquisition programs for Navy shipbuilding and defense systems.
  • Professional Engineer License

Security Clearance: Interim or active DOD SECRET; interim or active DoD Top Secret or the ability to acquire preferred

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. Master's preferred.

Work Schedule:

M-F, Onsite

Compensation and Benefits:

The anticipated compensation range for this position is $84,000-145,000. There are numerous factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the role, work location, education/certifications, and a contract's Labor Categories.
