Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati, College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a Financial Administrator 2 position to administer various financial and administrative duties for the academic units within the Humanities division. The Financial Administrator must be customer service oriented, an initiative-taker, be well organized and can complete work independently, as well as have the aptitude to work as a team. The Financial Administrator will receive their direction from and report to the Business Administrator within the Humanities division.

Major duties may include administrative, fiscal, and grant activities such as:

* Post award grant management for the division including the processing of financial transactions, tracking and reconciling of budgets, and compliance with sponsored program regulations.

* Administer Study Abroad programming with processing of various financial transactions and expense tracking.

* Assist the Business Administrator with financial review and forecasting.

This position will offer flexibility for a hybrid remote work option for applicants with a residence within the

Cincinnati Tri-State Area. Hybrid remote work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with

university policies.

Essential Functions

* Coordinate and monitor fiscal administrative duties.

* Assist in the development of unit policies and procedures.

* Monitor the financial status of unit programs and other budget allocations.

* Implement policies to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

* Manage and reconcile budget accounts including the preparation of monthly reports.

* May coordinate personnel functions for an operating unit.

* Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree must be in accounting or related work.
  • Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Two (2) years of finance or accounting experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

* Previous experience with higher education, grants management, and/or study abroad programming.

* Attention to detail and accuracy.

* Eective communication skills.

* Team mentality and willingness to collaborate with sta across the unit, college, and university.

* Aptitude for critical thinking and creative problem-solving.

* Procient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
