Overview
Milton CAT is a great place to learn and develop your career, and the Workforce Development Specialist is an important ambassador of our mission to connect education with employment, and champion Milton CAT within the communities we engage with. The workforce development team develops and supports the company's partnership with schools and organizations in our territory, to connect programs/instructors, align curriculum and engage students with entry-level employment opportunities. The role is responsible for developing Milton CAT's pipeline of future talent through targeted partnership with schools, oversight of the intern/co-op program and continuous efforts to build Milton CAT's employment brand at the high school and college level, in partnership with the Recruiter, management and faculty. Pay range - $55,000 - $68,000 annual
Responsibilities
Maintain and foster strong partnering relationships with administration at colleges and high schools we currently work with, aimed at filling internship and trainee positions.
- Facilitate the attraction, selection and placement of interns, trainees and high school job shadows throughout the region, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain and update database system (CRM) for tracking school activity, contact info, events and financial and non-financial contributions
- Develop and execute communication campaigns to prospective students; track responses and update candidate database with relevant information
- Brainstorm on innovative ways to reach students, parents or faculty to promote careers at Milton CAT
- Handle all administrative components of academic career event coordination, including on-site tours
- Represent Milton CAT at in-person and virtual career events and school advisory meetings
- Conduct presentations for specific schools, classes or groups of students
- Coordinate local supply of promotional items and print materials to support outreach and events
- Facilitate administration of the annual CAT Dealer Excellence Fund and scholarship process, in partnership with the regional recruiter and Service department leadership.
- As time permits, assist Talent Acquisition team with recruiting for open positions, including sourcing and screening for candidates, utilizing ATS system and leveraging resume database tools
Qualifications
- Associate's/Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required
- 1+ years experience in recruiting/talent acquisition, college relations, or a related sales/networking type role is strongly preferred
- Prior involvement with networking events, career fairs, presentations or intern programs desired
- An outgoing "people-person" with strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
- Ability to dynamically present to and engage with groups of varying size
- Passion for connecting students with career opportunities; ability to be a strong champion of the Milton CAT brand and "sell" our culture and benefits
- Solid Microsoft Office computer skills (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Powerpoint), with an aptitude for learning and leveraging new technology
- Strong administrative and organization skills, with attention to detail and follow through
- Ability to travel to school and industry events in assigned region, as well as travel throughout the NY territory on a regular basis. Occasional travel outside of NY (typically no more than 4 times per year).
