Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Laboratory/Technical Assistant Seasonal for the Rutgers Urban and Civic Informatics Lab within Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Provides leading assistance with cyber infrastructure development, spatial micro-simulation, and multi-modal data fusion.
- Supports empirical model building, testing, evaluation, and policy insights.
- Literature review in the domain areas of mobility, smart cities, and economic development.
- Provides coding and documentation assistance.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Master's degree in data science or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Professional experience and with transfer learning, Generative Adversarial Networks, raking, spatial micro-simulations, multi-modal data fusion, and cyber-infrastructure development, and a foundational understanding of statistical theory behind such methods.
- Programming in R, Python, and Kepler GL. Experience with data documentation and metadata standards.
- Knowledge and practical experience with research in mobility, smart cities, economic and workforce development.
- Knowledge and experience working with US Census products, including Household Pulse Survey, Current Population Survey supplements, and related subjects.
