PURPOSE The Director of Component Operations is accountable for assisting the directors, market ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Management and Leadership
* Assist Directors in establishing Company goals and objectives. * Monitors, analyzes, and recommend corrective action for underperforming facilities . * Develop product positioning, packaging and pricing strategy to produce Company goals and objectives. * Analyzes processes and procedures to ensure success in achieving Company goals and objectives * Monitors financial performance of all truss facilities and recommend corrective action when needed. * Help develop standard utilization of common design processes . * Assist market management as needed to accomplish or exceed Company goals and objectives . * Demonstrates a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement. * Works with locations on following correct inventory SOP's . * Leads and recommends design and manufacturing adjustments to ensure full utilization of company assets (Design and production level loading across multiple markets where applicable). People and Relationship Development * Establishes and maintains relationships with local and market management. * The ability to motivate others to work as a team. * Leads discussion and analysis of a truss facilities to determine optimal layout, flow, equipment needs, relocation discussions, etc. * Analyzes equipment needs; deploy new equipment where it does the best, redeploy existing equipment to other locations. * Works with local management to assure consistency on labor assignment - direct labor versus indirect. * Conducts periodic local and regional truss production meetings. * Supports company safety group on specific truss related issues. * Determines/analyzes/deploys high value add truss production and administrative processes across multiple locations/markets. * Works with Directors to develop a truss trainee program. * Works with Directors to develop a program to identify and cultivate high potential truss management candidates. * Comply with all Company policies and procedures. * Adheres to the Company's safety standards and enforce safety regulations . * Other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervisors assigned employees including staff selection and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; conducting performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * 10 years of experience in a management position. * Extensive knowledge of the industry and products. COMPETENCIES Oral and written communication skills with the ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents . * Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups and/or Board of Component Directors . * Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from local and market management . * Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. * Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings . * Experience in strategic planning and execution . * Ability and/or licensure to operate forklift and pallet jack.
