Job Summary:

The Scheduling Supervisor will oversee the scheduling operations within the Surgical Services department, ensuring efficient and accurate scheduling of surgical procedures. This role involves coordinating with surgeons, nursing staff, and other departments to optimize the use of surgical facilities and resources. The Scheduling Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining compliance with hospital policies and improving scheduling processes to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the scheduling team, including training, performance evaluation, and resource management.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of surgical procedures, ensuring optimal use of operating rooms and staff availability.
  • Develop and implement scheduling policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, nursing staff, and other departments to resolve scheduling conflicts and ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor and evaluate scheduling performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of scheduled procedures and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professional development, and staff engagement.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in surgical scheduling or a similar role.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Certification in surgical scheduling or similar credentials preferred.
