Summary of Job Duties:Within the Perioperative Care Services Division, the Clinical and Operational Performance Manager (COPM) provides management and oversight of all clinical and operational analytics and development and execution of necessary performance improvement deliverables. The COPM has extensive education, experience, and expertise in research, performance improvement, statistical analysis, actionable report writing, and management of complex projects in diverse clinical and operational realms. This leader has an advanced acumen for utilizing data in problem identification and resolution. The COPM has strategic intellect, is an expert in change theory, and can harness quantitative and qualitative evidence to bring about awareness and action of all levels of stakeholders. Expert and adaptive communication techniques are a necessity, as well as the ability to effectively translate information to team members, inclusive of all levels of education, background, and disciplines. This leader is uniquely positioned to positively affect clinical, operational, and cultural change in Perioperative Care Services by creating, capturing, and capitalizing on evidence and providing hands-on translation in the clinical setting of that evidence into practice. The contribution of the COPM to outcomes in patient care and experience, efficiency, financial viability,y and departmental culture is profound. The COPM must demonstrate a strong sense of commitment to quality service to our customers (internal and external) and must support the mission, vision, values, and strategic initiatives of UAMS Medical Center. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of administrative experience

  • Superior organizational and time management skills

  • Advanced communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills; ability to present to large audiences effectively

  • Demonstrated ability to align and motivate key process stakeholders, including nurses, physicians, and other clinical/administrative staff

  • Strong skills in MS Office, database software, and analytics software such as SPSS, MiniTab, and PowerBI

  • Upon request, must be able to provide samples demonstrating proficiency in areas indicated above, as well as technical writing and presentations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • RN License

  • 5 years of clinical experience in an acute care facility, including at least 2 years of formal leadership experience

  • Relevant national certification CNOR

  • Optime (EPIC) certification within 18 months of hire

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the implementation of evidence-based standards of care through staff education.

  • Provides ongoing status reports and other quality improvement standards;

  • Collaborates with the leadership team and IT to develop and implement performance metrics.

  • Develops and/or supports plans and projects to facilitate the achievement of quality improvement initiatives.

  • Creates action plans to improve program outcomes and compliance; and conducts Quality Improvement audits and reports results.

  • Participates in educational activities that promote physician and staff understanding and utilization and other quality improvement concepts.

  • Uses payer-related portals and reports to identify trends, outliers, and track progress.

  • Conducts meetings with Payer Representatives.

  • Manages and maintains Performance Manuals.

  • Other duties as assigned
