Department:OPS | Project Management OfficeDepartment's Website: Summary of Job Duties:Intermediate Technical Project Manager supports all divisions of the entire UAMS enterprise in the "key areas of responsibility" (KAR) listed below. Responsible for managing medium scale projects but may contribute toward larger scale, enterprise-wide projects. Even though the is an intermediate role where mentoring will occur, they are expected to learn, embody & advocate for best practices, methodologies, standards, and artifacts identified by our profession. The takes moderately sized projects from original concept through final implementation, functioning with some guidance from others.Intermediate Technical Project Manager works with moderate supervision, exercising appropriate judgment & operational considerations. They support all aspects of the development & implementation of assigned projects and provide a single point of contact for their projects. The PMI must be professional, thorough, attentive to detail, and organized. Punctuality is a must. The Intermediate Technical Project Manager must be strong in communicating (both in writing and orally), as their responsibilities require them to communicate clearly & often. They must drive & facilitate efforts required from technical teams, vendors, and operations to ensure IT deliverables & business needs are met. At times the Intermediate Technical Project Manager must contribute to business-analyst, systems-analyst, or workflow-analyst effort. In this role may be called upon to perform data-collection & root cause analysis of barriers to success, and offer potential solutions to stakeholders. The Intermediate Technical Project Manager must collaborate congenially with other business/functional managers, project-managers, analysts, & business units. The Intermediate Technical Project Manager might also be a subject matter expert on specific technologies, business processes, or systems. The Intermediate Technical Project Manager reports to the PMO Director & frequently works work with various levels of staff in the organization, including managers, and directors - - - and must be collaborative and must sense 'ownership' of projects assigned to them. Workload and deadline pressure will regularly subject incumbent to moderate job-related stress. They attain necessary certifications, as applicable, in a timely manner according to policy.
