DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will take on the critical responsibility of managing and coordinating a team of workers skilled in operating heavy construction machinery and utilizing hand tools for a variety of highway maintenance activities. Your duties will encompass a wide range of tasks, including the repair of cracks and potholes, stabilization and repair of road shoulders, installation and maintenance of drainage systems, and the setup of guide rails. You will also oversee the cleaning of roadways, litter collection, and the widening of roads, while addressing and resolving any complaints related to highway conditions. Furthermore, you will play a key role in coordinating emergency responses to adverse weather conditions such as snow and ice, as well as storm damage and vehicle accidents. An essential part of your role will involve investigating highway-related complaints and ensuring timely and appropriate responses. Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing and maintaining road log records pertaining to the conditions in your assigned area, which will aid in the effective prioritization and planning of work operations and cost estimates.

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Highway Foreman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of experience in the performance of lead work or skilled tradesman duties on a highway maintenance or construction project; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possessionof a valid Class C Pennsylvania Driver's License.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
