HDR has an opening for a Georgia Hydropower Lead to join our national hydropower engineering and regulatory team that ENR ranks Number 2 of the Top 10 firms providing services to owners and operators of hydropower plants. Primary responsibilities for this position include leading our Georgia hydropower client and business development activities, leading or supporting proposals and pursuits, serving as a PM or technical lead on projects, helping grow a local team in Atlanta, and collaborating with other Areas and teams for the successful execution of Georgia-Area hydropower projects. This is a predominantly utilized role. Future operations duties will include managing a local interdisciplinary team, including recruiting, staffing, workload balancing, and resource matching. They will develop and maintain relationships across local HDR offices as well as across HDR's national Hydropower Practice and Power Sector to continue growth and development of the Georgia Hydropower Team. This includes collaboration with Georgia operations leaders and Hydropower Practice and Business Class leaders to understand and integrate staff capabilities across HDR's Hydropower Practice. To maintain and improve client satisfaction, the Hydropower Leader will provide oversight of project execution by participating in project reviews and selection of Principals-In-Charge (PIC) for projects and by conducting regular client check-in meetings, with an emphasis on in-person meetings as appropriate. The Hydropower Lead is also expected to engage actively in the hydropower industry through participation in the National Hydropower Association or other hydropower or dam safety industry groups. Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Engineering, Geosciences, or other relevant degree
- 15 years of relevant experience is preferred, including 10 years of hydropower or hydropower-related experience
- Professional Engineer in Georgia and Alabama
- Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand
- Experienced in developing, maintaining and growing meaningful and lasting client relationships
- Established, positive working relationships with existing and potential hydropower clients highly desired
- Demonstrated consulting business or professional services operations experience, including managing multi-discipline project teams
- Strong understanding of successful project execution including management of schedule, budget and quality and monitoring client satisfaction
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across a national matrix organization
- Commitment to long-term engagement and plan implementation
- Ability to travel within region as needed

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field
- 10 years of experience
- Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
- Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience
- Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
- Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
