The Demand Planner I at Pacific Seafood plays a critical role within the Key Accounts team, supporting the development and maintenance of accurate demand forecasts while monitoring inventory levels to optimize production planning. This position collaborates closely with the Central Procurement Team and the Resource Team within our Processing operating company to drive integrated planning activities and processes. It is well-suited for individuals with strong analytical skills and a passion for data-driven decision-making. Key Responsibilities:
Forecasting and Data Analysis:
- Develop and maintain demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, and other relevant factors.
- Analyze sales data, customer trends, and market information to identify patterns and predict future demand.
- Continuously seek ways to improve the demand planning process and enhance forecasting accuracy.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
- Monitor inventory levels, identify potential shortages or surpluses, and collaborate with supply chain teams to optimize stock.
- Identify potential supply chain challenges, develop solutions, and implement strategies to mitigate risks.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Effectively communicate forecasts, inventory recommendations, and supply chain challenges to stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, and other departments to gather data, understand market dynamics, and align forecasts.
- Proven cross functional team collaboration at all levels
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.
What You Bring to Pacific Seafood: Required:
- A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field
- 3 plus years' experience in demand planning, or inventory control
- Forecast and inventory experience
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, Excel)
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence without authority, gain buy-in, resolve conflict, and drive consensus
- Strong self-motivation to improve capabilities of self and others through various means of learning methods
- Proven cross functional team collaboration at all levels
- Strong attention to detail and business process improvement
- Able to navigate through complex business processes with understanding of upstream and downstream implications
Preferred:
- Previous experience within the Food and Beverage industry
- Project Management experience
- Experience with AS 400
