Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities

The Nephrologist will specialize in diseases and disorders of the kidney and conditions that impact renal function. Other duties of the Nephrologist include:

  • Provide direct patient care at St. Paul, MN facility by reviewing patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation;
  • Evaluate, interpret, and coordinate information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care;
  • Provide education, consultation or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families;
  • Work collaboratively with patients and other healthcare providers to improve patient's health and well-being;
  • Manage complex cases of kidney disease and resistant hypertension; manage AKI, CKD, Acute and Chronic Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Home Hemodialysis, plasmapheresis, CRRT, Fluid and critical electrolyte abnormalities management, Kidney stones prevention and treatment, evaluation of renal transplant candidates, management of post renal transplant patients and performing on call responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

  • This position requires an MD, DO degree or equivalent.
  • Must be BE/BC in Internal Medicine and Nephrology;
  • Must have or be immediately eligible for a MN medical license;
  • Must be a Certified Hypertension Specialist.
  • Must have two (2) years of experience as a Nephrologist; and
  • Must have two years of experience with each of the following:
    • Managing AKI, Fluid and electrolyte abnormalities, Nephrolithiasis, CKD, Acute and Chronic Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Home Hemodialysis, CRRT, Plasmapheresis;
    • Performing evaluation of renal transplant candidates;
    • Managing post renal transplant patients;
    • Managing complex cases of kidney disease and resistant hypertension.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $390,000 to $410,000 per year

The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
