Cape Fox subsidiary Eagle Health, LLC is seeking candidates for aMolecular Virology Technical Supportto support a government customer at Ft. Detrick.This position is contingent upon contract award. The above salary range represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Job Summary The Employee shall provide support to the Project Implementation Team (PIT) Branch with laboratory experiments in BSL-2, BSL-3 and BSL-4 laboratories and shall work with controlled substances. The Employee shall aid in the execution of scientific studies, basic cell culture, and plaque assays, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and other assays, animal procedures, collection/data analyzing, and maintain laboratory and laboratory equipment. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Employee shall support 1-5 Non-human Primate studies and 10-20 rodent studies per year in BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4 laboratories.
- Employee shall perform inoculations with virus, vaccine, or applicable testing material, collect tissues for processing and conduct blood sample collection and sample processing.
- Employee shall perform in vitro testing of candidate vaccines and therapeutic compounds against a variety of viruses.
- Employee shall prepare all necessary study materials for assigned experiments to include but not limited to preparing cell culture media, labeling tubes, and preparing paperwork.
- Employee shall perform immunological procedures including enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and Western Blot assays.
- Employee shall perform basic cell culture, plaque assays (PA), plaque reduction neutralization test (PRNT), PCR, and other assays to support NHP and rodent studies.
- Employee shall perform general laboratory maintenance duties, including but not limited to cleaning, preparation for inspections, and containment space monthly duties as assigned by the suite supervisor.
- Employee shall perform other administrative tasks associated with NHP and rodent studies, including but not limited to raw data quality control review, data entry, binder compilation, and binder management as directed.
- Employee shall assist with inventory management of in vivo and in vitro study materials and samples.
- Employee shall provide TPOC a Employee Research Technical Report NLT the last day of each week
- Employee shall be responsible for assessment, ordering, inventory, and maintaining supplies used for in vivo and in vitro studies. Shall assess supplies and shall order supplies using GFEBS ordering system as directed. Anticipated workload is 25-30 orders/monthly.
- CS-PRP enrollment is required and shall be held and maintained IAW the provisions in this contract and all applicable regulations.
- BPRP enrollment is required and shall be held and maintained IAW the provisions in this contract and all applicable regulations.
