In this role, the successful candidate performs cash posting functions for physician claims. This position will be responsible for posting payments, reconciling journals, remits and moving money to patient responsibility.

Job Description:

• Cash Posting: Perform cash posting functions for physician claims, including posting payments and reconciling journals and remits.
• Patient Responsibility: Move money to patient responsibility as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• HIPAA and PHI Compliance: Ensure familiarity with HIPAA and PHI guidelines.
• Explanation of Benefits: Analyze and take action based on Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
• Timely Posting: Ensure all assigned postings are completed within the stipulated time and according to protocol.
• Unposted Payments: Complete posting of unposted payments and denials promptly.
• Email Queries: Respond to email queries from clients and management in a timely manner.
• Process Updates: Follow process updates from clients or the TQM team.
• Daily Reconciliation: Reconcile all batches daily after posting.
• Deliverables: Meet productivity, quality, PKT, and attendance standards set by the client/management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: 2-3 years in healthcare revenue cycle with a specialty in cash posting.
• Education: HS Diploma. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, payer portals, and claims clearinghouses.

Additional Duties:

• Balancing Statements: Balance statements and document spreadsheets.
• Unapplied Cash: Post unapplied cash and zero payment remits.
• Lockbox Correspondence: Check the lockbox for correspondence.
• Transaction Posting: Post all transactions, payments, and adjustments.
• Problem Solving: Demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness in resolving accounts and meeting standards.

This role requires strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and the ability to meet productivity and quality standards.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is between $19.00 - 21.00 per hour, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
