Overview

Leads the development and execution of a cohesive strategy related to aggregators and larger cross-regional agency partners. This includes incorporating changes in their distribution strategies, merger and acquisition (M&A) strategies, regionalization and storefront consolidation, small business processes, and technological advancements. Leads product transformation efforts related to national partners. Monitors and identifies the dynamics of a rapidly changing marketplace and evolving distribution landscape, creating stategic plans to respond effectively. Responsible for the national partner and larger cross-regional agency management practice and ensures efficient communications across regional partners and aggregator offices. Shares key performance metrics and partners with our regional offices and various lines of business to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Leads the creation and execution of a multi-year national partner strategy, emphasizing flexibility and optionality to maximize impact across small business, personal lines, flood, middle market, large accounts, and geographic expansion for profitable growth. Collaborates with regional teams to align strategic and tactical plans, ensuring the measurement and monitoring of objectives, making necessary adjustments, and optimizing resource utilization.
  • Responsible for development and implementation of the national partner agency compensation strategy. This includes designing and managing incentive programs, modifying custom profit-sharing agreements (PSAs), and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of national partner compensation with both Selective and other carriers. Additionally, it includes handling various other compensation-related matters for our national partners.
  • Develops and implements a standardized approach to relationship management with national partners and larger cross-regional agencies. This includes identifying additional agency appointments opportunities, segment or line of business specific opportunities, specialty programs, and enhanced storefront reporting. It also involves enhanced reporting based on agency structure, managing internal and external communications, and strategically using agency compensation tools to drive above-market growth. Establishes deep, credible executive relationships with assigned distribution partners, including corporate office executives as well as key regional distribution leaders.
  • Serves as the relationship manager for key national partners, identifying, developing, executing, and reporting on opportunities to increase production. Creates custom agency compensation plans; identifies small business, flood, and personal lines growth opportunities; works with their verticals and our business units to identify additional growth areas; and leverages the unique strengths of the national partner to help drive growth.
  • Understands and identifies the dynamics of a rapidly changing marketplace and evolving national partner distribution landscape. Develops marketplace intelligence, segment, distribution, and individual national partner trends, including but not limited to M&A activity, changes in business philosophy, regionalization, leadership, consolidation, branding, compensation, emerging trends, and technology
  • Leads the product transformation effort related to large partner distribution, including creating a cohesive roadmap of system modernization to serve the needs of national partners, and allow for optionality in how we interface and work with them. Also, efforts related to agency compensation, such as system enhancements, temporary commission increases, automated incentive reports, custom PSA reports, field-facing PSA reports, communication, and training internally and externally on changes.
  • Leads the standard lines initaitives and necessary changes for E&S Retail Agent Access, including PSA modifications, agency contract updates, marketing efforts, and monitoring activities, with a focus on leveraging these capabilities with our national partners.
  • Represents Selective with major industry associations (including IIABA and PIAand optimizes the effectiveness of participation in various programs such as Trusted Choice.
  • Must be able to drive an automobole for business travel which constitutes approximately 20% of the role's time and requires a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Requirements

  • Demonstrates superior leadership capability.

    Strong financial, underwriting, marketing, sales and agency operations acumen.

    Must have a valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and be able to drive an automobile.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
    5+ years of Commercial Property & Casualty distribution, insurance industry underwriting, Agency Management, Agency Operations, Marketing or field sales experience.

The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance, and business needs.
