JOB TITLE:

Supervisor, Parking

JOB PURPOSE:

Supervise operational and personnel functions of the parking enforcement functions of the Transportation Services department.

PLEASE NOTE:

This position provides an excellent balance between office responsibilities and fieldwork, ideal for professionals who appreciate variety in their work environment.
  • Working hours for this position are:
    • Academic Year - 7:30 am to 5:00 pm with a 1 hour lunch break
    • Summer - 7:30 am to 4:30 pm with a 1 hour lunch break
  • This position involves on-call status.
  • This position requires the ability to work outside in Laramie weather conditions.
  • This position has been deemed essential as addressed in the University of Wyoming's Employee Handbook. Employees in essential positions may be required to work during emergency closures and winter closure based on the nature of their job duties and the reasons for the closure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise Parking Services Officers (PSOs), including responsibilities for hiring, training, scheduling, task assignment, performance monitoring, and, when necessary, disciplinary actions or terminations.
  • Manage and maintain parking equipment and software systems, including kiosks, meters, handheld devices, radios, and license plate recognition (LPR) technology. Coordinate with vendors and collaborate with other University departments. Oversee meter and kiosk revenue collections.
  • Enforce campus parking regulations, including vehicle immobilization, and coordinating towing services as needed.
  • Oversee maintenance of parking lots and structures, including signage, striping, equipment installation, and general upkeep. Submit and track work orders, manage garage operations, and maintain supply and equipment inventories.
  • Serve as liaison to the Traffic Appeals Committee; review submitted appeals, make recommendations, and enter final decisions into the system.
  • Plan and coordinate parking for special events, including enforcement, temporary signage placement, and logistics.
  • Enter and manage data, generate reports, track statistics, and maintain lot maps and matrices. Review citations for accuracy and evaluate the quality of associated images.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Support front desk operations by assisting customers, processing parking permit sales, and handling citation payments and inquiries
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required to perform the essential duties of this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Associate's degree
  • Experience: 2 years work-related experience
  • Valid driver's license that meets the requirements for UW's Driving and Business Standard Policy and Procedure
  • Strong customer service skills with at least 1 year of experience

This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work on campus.
