Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the development and execution of complex engineering designs, ensuring solutions meet technical requirements, safety standards, and DOE/DoD specifications.
  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of engineering projects, from initial concept through final implementation. This includes managing scope, timeline, and resource allocation to ensure project completion within deadlines and budgets.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise in specialized engineering disciplines and mentor junior and mid-level engineers to build organizational engineering capabilities.
  • Proactively identify and assess project risks related to cost, performance, and scheduling. Develop contingency plans to mitigate potential impacts and ensure continuity of project objectives.
  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant DOE and DoD regulations, industry standards, and environmental and safety requirements.
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to gather requirements, provide regular progress updates, and address any project changes or challenges.
  • Lead the integration of engineering systems and manage comprehensive testing to validate performance, functionality, and compliance with technical requirements.
  • Implement best practices for process optimization and efficiency, driving innovation and ensuring the highest quality standards in project delivery.
  • Prepare and review detailed technical reports, engineering documents, and project deliverables. Ensure accurate documentation of project progress and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors, ensuring clear communication of technical requirements and timely delivery of materials and services aligned with project goals.
  • Senior Engineer - Works independently to perform engineering analyses, detailed design, codes/standards incorporation, checking at all levels, leads technical aspects at all levels of project teams, serves as mentor.

Education, Experience and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, civil, or a related field) (required); Master's degree or PhD (preferred).
  • Minimum of 12 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a senior technical role (required).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (required).
  • Experience with DOE or DoD contract projects (preferred).
  • Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale engineering projects (required).
  • Must receive a satisfactory pre-hire drug screen and background check.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements.
