Employees in the Engineer III position solve complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with limited supervision. An Engineer III is expected to develop advanced skills, and the ability to work with greater independence. An Engineer III effectively applies fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is progressively complex and varied. The Senior Engineer manages work in engineering areas of specialization, with minimal supervision. The Senior Engineer is expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues. Employees in the Senior Engineer position are fully competent in the use of concepts and procedures. The Senior Engineer identifies problems, develops solutions and takes action to resolve This position supports multiple Grid Improvement Projects (GIP) (e.g. SOG, IVVC, Power Up, TDSIC, ADMS, system upgrades) providing subject matter expertise (SME) to ensure Grid automation capabilities are maximized and sustained to achieve reliability metrics, operational performance, and regulatory commitments. This position will provide subject matter expertise for the Advanced Functions and System Optimization Team for DMS/DSCADA/OMS/ADMS grid systems and operational data management to maintain standards and quality assurance. This resource will also help ensure the GIP projects deliver the expected functionality to meet the Distribution Control Center (DCC) and field operational user needs and help ensure we achieve the benefits expected by these grid investments and regulatory commitments. This position will serve as a SME for DMS/DSCADA/OMS/ADMS advanced functions responsible for testing, quality assurance, incident management, and project level initiatives for system modifications and enhancements. This role will also have responsibility to monitor and troubleshoot the detailed real time DMS power flow models to support: Fault Isolation and Service Restoration (FISR), Fault Locating, Self-Optimizing Grid/Self-Healing teams (SOG/SHT), Volt/Var DER Management (IVVC/LVM), Demand Side Demand Reduction (DSDR), etc. Responsibilities
