Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Systems Administrator - Patch Management to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the patch management process to ensure the security and stability of our IT infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of IT security principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams.

What you will do...

Patch Management:

* Develop and implement patch management policies and procedures.

* Monitor and assess the availability of patches and updates for operating systems, applications, and hardware.

* Schedule and deploy patches in a timely manner to minimize security vulnerabilities and system downtime.

* Conduct regular patch audits and compliance checks to ensure all systems are up-to-date.

IT Security Projects:

* Collaborate with the IT Security team to identify and prioritize security-related patches and updates.

* Participate in IT security projects, providing expertise on patch management and vulnerability remediation.

* Assist in the development and implementation of security measures to protect against cyber threats.

* Conduct risk assessments and impact analyses for security patches and updates.

System Monitoring and Reporting:

* Monitor systems for signs of security breaches or vulnerabilities.

* Generate and analyze reports on patch compliance, system vulnerabilities, and security incidents.

* Provide regular updates to management on the status of patch management activities and security posture.

Collaboration and Communication:

* Work closely with IT operations, network, and application teams to coordinate patch deployment and minimize disruptions.

* Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure understanding and compliance with patch management policies.

* Provide training and support to IT staff on patch management best practices and tools.

Documentation and Continuous Improvement:

* Maintain detailed documentation of patch management processes, procedures, and activities.

* Continuously evaluate and improve patch management practices to enhance security and efficiency.

* Stay current with industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices in patch management and IT security.

Requirements

* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in patch management, IT security, or a related role.

* Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and enterprise applications.

* Experience with patch management tools (e.g., Tanium, WSUS, ECM, Ivanti, etc.).

* Understanding of IT security principles, including vulnerability management and risk assessment.

* Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM) are a plus.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Skills

* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
