Our Corporate IT team in Birmingham is seeking a strategic Infrastructure Architect who can transform complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions. As our Infrastructure Architect, you'll be the mastermind behind our cloud infrastructure strategy, designing secure, scalable, and cost-effective systems that become the foundation of EBSCO's digital transformation. Your architectures will empower our business to innovate with confidence.

What You'll Do

  • Craft Enterprise-Class Solutions - Design comprehensive cloud architectures that seamlessly integrate applications, data, and services across our business ecosystem
  • Lead Cloud Transformation - Develop forward-thinking AWS infrastructure blueprints that balance innovation, security, and operational excellence
  • Standardize Through Code - Champion Infrastructure as Code practices that ensure consistency, compliance, and repeatability
  • Secure Our Digital Assets - Design multi-layered security frameworks that protect our systems and data from emerging threats
  • Mentor Technical Teams - Provide architectural guidance that elevates our entire organization's cloud capabilities

Required Skills:

  • 5 + years' experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, and Route 53
  • Proven ability to define end-to-end IT architectures (processes, applications, data, technology) that align with enterprise standards and integrate seamlessly across services
  • Experience architecting and provisioning AWS environments using Terraform and Ansible for repeatable, version-controlled deployments
  • Skills implementing secure authentication and authorization with Keycloak (OAuth2/OpenID Connect), configuring AWS IAM roles, policies, and permissions, and integrating SSO with RBAC
  • Talent for designing security posture using AWS GuardDuty, Shield, WAF, Security Hub; managing SSL/TLS (ACM, Let's Encrypt); and conducting vulnerability scans and security audits

What Sets You Apart:

  • AWS Certification - AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) credentials
  • Scalability & Cost Optimization Ingenuity - Experience defining autoscaling strategies, CDN (CloudFront) patterns, and tuning resource usage to balance performance and spend
  • Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Vision - Ability to build and test RDS backup policies, S3 versioning/lifecycle rules, and cross-region replication to ensure business continuity
  • Release & Lifecycle Management Orchestration - Leadership in platform upgrades and orchestrating staging, canary, and zero-downtime deployments across environments
